Muḥammad Masʿad Yāqūt

Muhammad Mascad Yaqut, known as Yaqut al-Hamawi, was an esteemed geographer and biographer. Originating from the Byzantine Empire, he was captured and sold into slavery, eventually finding freedom and dedicating his life to scholarly pursuits.
