•The Rustamid dynasty was an Ibadi Muslim state that ruled parts of present-day Algeria from 777 to 909 CE. Centered in Tahert, it became a hub for scholarship, trade, and religious tolerance, attracting diverse communities. The Rustamids played a key role in spreading Ibadi Islam in North Africa before being overthrown by the Fatimids.
