ʿAfīfa Karam

Cafifa Karam was a pioneering figure in Arabic literature and journalism. She was among the first Arab women to write and publish extensively in the Arabic language. Karam's work primarily focused on advocating for women's rights and education, themes that were central to her novels and essays. She was also instrumental in the establishment of one of the first Arabic-language newspapers in the Americas, through which she voiced her progressive views on social reform and women's emancipation.
